Wondrous Wednesday : Thank Your Body

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today, I was enlightened by my bored mine with a brilliant idea. I decided to do a new series where I share a website once in 2 weeks on a Wednesday (if I found any). All the websites that I am going to share here are very beneficial that it's worth sharing it with all of you guys.

So for today, I am delighted to share about this website/blog I found yesterday. It is called Thank Your Body and it's ran by Robin Konie. You may found me talking a little bit about Robin's website in my previous post about SLS.

Okay where do I start.

Let's just start by expressing that I love each and everything that Robin has posted. She wakes up every healthy fibre inside of me and inspire me that healthy living is not an option, it's a solution. From her homemade recipes of EVERYTHING to her fitness tips, she is like a Godsend angel that is here to save us all from the devils of McDonalds and toxic makeup. Like I have no idea that we could make our own mascara without having the complicated chemicals that could potentially damage our health.

I am very very grateful that I found Robin's website and I am thankful that there is a person that is so nice to share all the healthy food recipes, natural-ingredients makeup recipes, health and fitness tips and more. Robin's website deserve all the recognition it has.

Thank you Robin. Just thank you.

Cheers,

Be a greener person. Wear hazard-free products.

Hello everyone!

Yesterday, I came across Fee's post about products containing Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS/SLES) and I thought it was so great of her to share that with us. I am now very cognizant about all the products I'm using daily. It was such an eye-opening post. If you don't have any idea what I'm talking about, SLS is a common chemical used in cosmetic industry....and industrial cleaners. Crazy huh? In a basic non-hazardous term, it is just a foaming agent. It is mostly found in body wash, shampoos, facial cleaners, and products that usually foam up. Now I can't go on full subject on this matter, a website called Mercola did a post on SLS, you can read it here.

Fee's post and the article above are already enough to make me aware of things. It's kind of pretty disappointing to discover the ugly truth about some amazing products that I've used contained SLS. But the perks of living on earth is that we are gifted with amazing scientists that care about making products that are SLS free. There are tons of SLS-free shampoos sold online and if you are lucky enough, you can find it in your local drugstore. Of course, some are quite pricey but I know that it's worth it. I am still shampoo-hunting myself, now that I know why I have been losing quite a lot of hair and dandruff everywhere on my scalp. Damn you SLS!

I made my own fair share of online research yesterday, and I found a useful website called EWG's Skin Deep. It is a website owned by Environmental Working Group (EWG) and it is a cosmetic database where you can check the ingredients of a certain product and their potential of being hazardous. You just easily search your product in the search box and they will provide as many information as they could.

Fortunately, most of my skincare products and makeup products aren't that hazardous but I should still be aware. Not just SLS, but other ingredients as well. We shouldn't be gullible about what commercials want us to see. Organic and Natural do not always mean it is SLS-free. To be safe, check the ingredients.

Which leads me to my next point. If most of products are not 100% safe and safe products are pricey and hard to get, what is there left to do? Honestly, I was literally about to cry when I thought of this question because it feels like a dead end. But eventually my light bulb was switched! Homemade, DIYs and natural ingredients are our answers! I found this amazing blog that consist a LOT of homemade recipes. From blush, bronzer, foundation, etc. There is nothing safer than using natural, unprocessed ingredients. So there's our loophole!

I hope this post can give you a wake up call. As much as makeup and skincare products are our savior, we need to be aware of the stuff it has in it. What we can always do is check the ingredients or wear makeup less or find a safer alternative or made your own. We must always take care of our body, not to fall on the rabbit's hole.

Question time : how often do you check the ingredients before you buy a certain product?

Cheers,

My healthy breakfast meals since I was a kid

Hello everyone!

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal. Metaphorically, it is like a fuel to energize our body until the rest of the day. We also know that phrase 'We are what we eat' is also as equally important as not missing our breakfast. Carefully choosing our breakfast in one step to achieving a healthy lifestyle.

I'm not going to lie that sometimes I do fall for my cravings and just shove whatever I want  into my mouth. We all lose the battle sometimes. Lucky enough for me, my mother always prepared me healthy breakfast ever since I was in  primary school. Until today, I still make my own breakfast like how my Mom always made me . Thank you Mom!

Today, I'm just sharing with you guys few of the healthy meals my mom used to make me, so everyone can make one or make one for you kids!

  • 2 fully boiled eggs

Yes, as simple as that. Boiled eggs are very fulfilling, it literally can make you less hungry until afternoon. Eggs contains a lot of protein, so more energy and stamina!

  • 2 pieces of wholemeal bread with peanut butter spread

I always prefer my bread to be toasted, it's crunchier! And I just love the bread crumbles, it's messy but it makes everything yummier. Everything in this meal is high in fibre and carbohydrates.

  • 3 boiled chicken sausages with chili sauce dip

Let me emphasise on the boiled there. BOILED. Never deep fry it. You can change the chill sauce dip to anything you want, like Thousand Island or mustard or even cheese.

  • Cereals with low fat milk

I know this one is pretty normal, everyone does this. But my mom always gave me healthier cereals like Corn Flakes, which is very low in sugar and high in fibre. Never go for full cream milk. Low fat milk is the healthier choice and it tastes better.

  • A plain pancake

I never bother with the syrups. I always eat plain! If I do want something to eat it with, I'd go for chocolate sauce.

So, those are few of the healthier breakfast my mom used to make and I still do eat them until today. I hope you can gather something from this post!

What did you eat for breakfast when you were a little kid?

Happy Sunday,

Makeup Talk : Matte VS Shimmery

Hello everyone! I've been wrecking my brain on what to post for today. Then I thought why not do a post where I can spark a debate? LOL. Just kidding, but for the record I actually did want to do something debatable, although I doubt this topic even worth the debate or not.

So, the question for today is, which one is better in the cosmetic world, Matte or Shimmery? This includes everything in the makeup scope: lipstick, eyeshadow, foundation, blush, etc.
  • Lipstick

On the lips: MAC Russian Red

When I was about 10 years old, I was rummaging through my Mom's makeup bag and found a tube of very, very shimmery lipstick. I remember clearly that it has deep pink color with gold speckles around it. As any girl would do, I started to glide the lipstick on my lips and examined myself on the mirror. I remember that I didn't like it, it just made me look unflattering. Until today, I never liked shimmery lipsticks especially the shiny, glossy ones. I can handle lustrous lipsticks with lipliner underneath, but other than that, it is beyond repair.

My very first matte lipstick was the NYX Matte Lipsticks collection in Natural. I still have it right now and I absolutely love it. My absolute favorite matte lipstick has to be MAC Russian Red. I love how matte lipsticks make me look: sleek, neat and flattering. I would wear matte lipsticks over shimmery lipsticks anytime.

  • Eyeshadows

Essence Sun Club Palette

Now, I have love/hate relationship with both matte and shimmery eyeshadows. I never really know why. At some point, matte eyeshadows look good one me and at some point I look as dull as a dead plant. Same goes with shimmery eyeshadows, sometimes I just look TOO over the top but sometimes, I look like sparkly diva! Both my favorite matte and shimmery eyeshadows are by Essence (Matte Eyeshadow palette and Sun Club palette respectively)

  • Foundation
Revlon Colorstay in 310 Warm Golden

I have oily skin, no doubt I would choose matte finish over radiant finish anytime. No debate here! My favorite foundation, the Revlon Colorstay has a matte finish which I am so grateful for.
  • Blush/Bronzer

Same goes with foundation, I'm all the matte team for blush and bronzer! If I ever want a shimmer, I would just pop a highlighter on my cheeks and I never have to worry about my face turning into grease. I don't have a favorite blush but right now, I'm obsessed with Catrice Defining Brush which I did a full review on. My all time fave bronzer is the Essence Matte Bronzing Powder in 02 Love To Be Matt.

Which team are you on? Team Matte or Team Shimmery?

Review: Elf Eyeshadow Duo in Black Liconce and Butter Pecan + Swatches!

Hello everyone! Yesterday, I went shopping with my sister and we went to the Elf counter just to look at some eye shadows. I was never really a fan of Elf eye shadows because they are not always up to what they look like, so it has been a while since I bought eye shadows from Elf. But I've never tried their Eyeshadow Duo collection before so I decided to give it a try.

I picked up Butter Pecan, which consist of 2 brown colors. One has a matte peachy tone and the other one is shimmery golden brown.

Butter Pecan

I swatched the two colors on my arm (excuse my hairy arm!!) and I was amazed at how this one does live up to their expectations. Both colors are very pigmented, bear in mind that I only rubbed my finger once. So it must be brighter if I rub my finger a lot more times. I am not disappointed at all.

The next duo that I bought was Black Liconce. One of the duo has a matte, blue-grey color and the other one has shimmery black color. Again, both of these are very pigmented, these colors are great for a night out!

Black Liconce

The grey color is kind of metallic which is great because if I put this on my lid, it's going to bring more dimensions to my eyes. While the black color, I can use it for eyeliner if I'm lazy to pop some gel.

Well, overall I'm not disappointed, Elf has improved a lot in their eyeshadows and I am very pleased. These eyeshadows manifested a good appearance and I would totally recommend this to everyone.

Question time! Would you buy these collection?

See you soon,

Izzie's Lookbook : Spring

Spring

Spring by zeezs featuring gray handbags

If it something you guys need to know about me, I don't live in a country that has 4 seasons. The climate of my country is 'hot and wet' throughout the year. So I don't have the liberty to enjoy summer, autumn, spring and winter. As much as I am grateful of where I live, sometimes I wish I am living in a 4-seasons country so that I can play around with my closet and wear outfits accordingly. And more reasons to shop!

However, I do have the internet. The internet has broaden my fashion knowledge and I have stumbled upon MANY fashion blogs and videos that taught me what people at the other side of the world wear in a certain season. So, this post is just a mere inspiration of what I have seen what people would wear during Spring. Correct me if I didn't do this right.

So yeah, my idea of Spring is wearing a pastel colored shirt like pastel cyan or pastel teal and pair it with a floral skinny pants. To even make it more spring-y, I would complete the outfit with a coral pair of high wedges and a simple tote. I forgot to add a scarf there, wrapping a scarf would totally look gorgeous.

I hope you can get inspiration from this outfit, I would totally wear this! My favorite piece would be the floral pants, they are so gorgeous!

If there is anything that you would add or remove, what is it?

Review : Purederm Deep Cleansing Peel-Off Mask in Cucumber

Hello everyone!

I bought this peel off mask a week ago and haven't bother trying it out until last Monday. I only got this for $2. I saw my mother tried this mask before and she said it made her skin felt smooth, so being my curious self, I decided to try this out.

I love the packaging of this mask, it reminds me a lot of tropical fruits. Which reminds me why I bought it, I'm a sucker for everything cucumber. When I saw that this mask contains cucumber, I immediately grabbed it and only realised my mom has tried this before.

So, when I tore open the package, I saw a lime green gooey substance and it was in a very, very small amount. I was so disappointed! I read the instructions at the back of the package and followed it. I took the gel with my hand (a very clean hand) and started spreading it across my face. The instruction told me to apply this on evenly, so I tried my best to do so since it only came in a small amount. Turned out I was wrong, it was more than enough.

When I finished applying the stuff on my face, I evened it our even more but it was really hard because it was a lot! It was very sticky and very thick, so it was kind of hard to move it around. After trying my best to even it out, I waited for about 20 minutes until it I couldn't move my face anymore.

I was so excited when I got to the fun part, which was the peeling. I started out on my forehead because it was the easiest area to start with. I peeled carefully because we all know we do not want to get our skin stretched. So I took my time peeling the mask but I only realised that the area around my chin hadn't dried out yet (the layer was thick there!). So, I kinda had to rub my hand on this area to remove the mask and impurities. I rinsed my face with water and I was so amazed at how my skin was very smooth! I explored the area where I got the most blackheads and I was stunned how it was very very clear.

Although it was very hard to apply to the face, the effect of this mask is very satisfying and I definitely recommend this to everyone. It doesn't have the best smell in the world of face mask (smell like glue!), but the smell faded away when it dried. I'd give this product an 8 for its amazing effect!

Just to let you guys know, after using this mask, I applied my Simple Oil Balancing Moisturizer to bring back the moisture to my face. And if you decide to try this product out, share it with someone else because it's a lot!

Product knockout: Catrice Prime & Fine Smoothing Refiner VS Essence My Base Skin Perfection

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a great sunday, I know I am. Since I have a free time, I want to do a Product Knockout. It's going to be another series where I compare similar products from different brands. Today, it will be face primers. If you haven't known me yet, I am a lover of drugstore products, Catrice and Essence are two of my favorite drugstore brands. I have been investing in a lot of their products and I am very satisfied of everything I've tried ever since. Their face primers work wonders on my skin, but this knockout has to have a winner, right? So let me get into the details of each.

Catrice Prime & Fine Smoothing Refiner
This Catrice face primer (click the picture to buy it online) is wonderful on the skin. My foundation and concealer glide very smoothly with this product underneath and hence, makes it easy to blend. As far as I'm concern, this doesn't make my foundation melt and hold it for hours. The consistency of this product is however, very oily and kind of making my skin feels uncomfortable for a few minutes. After putting on foundation, it feels okay. This primer comes in a jar which means you have to dip your fingers onto the product, for me that's a little bit unsanitary. But the good thing about product in a jar is that you have control over the amount. Another thing I love about this primer is that it makes my face looks like a new canvas. It assists the foundation effectively in covering my imperfections and redness.
.
Essence My Base Skin Perfection
The Essence face primer (click the picture to buy it online) comes in a tube with a pump which is very convenient and sanitary for me, however, I don't really have much control on how much it squirts the product out. This primer is slightly tinted with a peachy color but you can barely see it on the skin. Like Catrice's this makes the foundation and concealer glides very easily and easy to blend. As for the consistency, I don't have problems with it, it feels like a moisturizer and yes, it feels moisturizing when I put this on. In terms of holding my foundation, it holds quite long. Unfortunately, as much as I love this product, this doesn't make my face looks like a new canvas, I can still see redness. I know I can just easily build up the layer of my foundation to cover the redness, but foundation isn't the case, if I layer it, my face will look cakey.

After I lot of thinking, I manage to knockout one of them. And the winner is.....CATRICE! But this doesn't mean that I wouldn't be wearing the Essence's anymore, I still can wear it for a more natural look where I don't wear much products on my face. Catrice's almost beat every winning factors of Essence's in my opinion such as how it holds my foundation longer and kind of make my face less greasy after long hours. I just wish this product comes with a pump!

If I had to change one thing about these face primers, it would be adding a sun protection formula. It would be SO much better if they have SPF, don't you think? It would become like a 2 in 1 product, a primer and sunscreen.

So that's it!

Have you tried these products, if yes, do you agree with me? If not, which would you buy? Leave me a comment!

ps: leave your blog address after you commented so I can check it out!

Applying Foundation : Which works the best - hands, brush or sponge?

Foundation is the essential for a flawless look. Whether you are going for a natural or dolly-porcelain look, foundation is a MUST. Without foundation, you might look a little bit incomplete. Unless you have a porcelain skin. So today, we're going to discuss about the best foundation application methods. There are 3 best methods known in the world on how to apply foundation, which are using hands or brush or sponge. But which of these are the best method? In what way that they vary?

Let's start weighing the pros and cons of each! These are based on my experience.

HANDS

Like Michelle Phan said, our hands/fingers are the best natural makeup tools. It's true, in fact I think using hands is the best way to apply foundation.

Pros:

  • Flawless finish
  • No streaks
  • You can get every little corners, spots, area thoroughly
  • Less likely to get germs or bacteria on your face
  • You are massaging your face at the same time which allow blood to flow (you'll have an amazing glow!)
  • Free!!
  • Easiest
Cons:
  • Although it is less likely method to spread germs/oil/sebum, it can also happen. So make sure your hands are clean.
  • Your fingers are probably going to be stained with foundation. But you can clean this with wet tissue, just avoid it getting onto your dress or top!

BRUSH

Real Technique Buffing Brush

There are two type of foundation brushes: flat brush and stippling/buffing brush. I've never used flat brush before, so I'm just going to focus on stippling brush.

Pros:
  • Flawless finish
  • Least likely to spread germs/oil to all over your face
  • Thorough application
Cons:
  • Can be quite expensive (and you have to get good quality ones to have flawless finish)
  • You have to clean after using them
  • It may leave streaks

SPONGE

My least favorite way to apply foundation.

Pros
  • Inexpensive (but I beg to differ on the beauty blenders!)
  • Good finish
  • Thorough application
  • Massages your face since you are pressing the sponge against your face
Cons
  • It leaves the most dirt
  • Have to cleanse after use
  • Absorbed too much product and left almost nothing on the face
  • Leaves many streaks
  • Slightly time consuming
There you have it! If you are new to makeup, I hope these methods-weighing will help you decide which method you should go for when applying foundation. After all, it depends on our preference.

Which method do you find the best in applying foundation?

Beauty Tag: 7 Deadly Sins

I heard about these tags from Ingrid Nilsen aka missglamorazzi on youtube and amazing blogger, Frances, and I was thinking why not do the same? So I'm going to answer a bunch of questions based on the 7 deadly sins.

GREED
What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

My most inexpensive beauty item would be my Essence Kajal Pencil in 08 Teddy. It only costed me a dollar! My most expensive has to be my Revlon Colorstay Foundation (my shade is 310 Warm Golden), it costed me around $28 which is pretty pricey for a college student with a college budget like me!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 310 Warm Golden
Essence Kajal Pencil in 08 Teddy

WRATH
What beauty products do you have love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

I have love/hate relationships with eyeliners an eyeshadows. It's really hard to get winged eyeliner right and symmetrical, while eyeshadows are really hard to mix and match. Like which color is for the crease, across the eyelids and outer corners. Sometimes I usually just mix what I think will look great and turns up looking muddy :(

GLUTTONY
What your most delicious beauty products?

I had to say my Body Shop Lip Balm and Catrice Infusion Long Lasting Lip Stain. They taste so so sweet that I can't resist licking.

Catrice Color Infusion Long Lasting Lip Stain

SLOTH
What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?

Without a doubt, lip liners. Especially when I wear bright lipsticks, I am always either lazy or forgetful about applying lip liners and regret it when my lipstick melts.

PRIDE
What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Foundation and concealers because without them, my makeup look wouldn't be complete. Unless you have perfect baby skin.

LUST
What attributes do you find the most attractive in the opposite sex?

Physical wise, I love an 'appropriately' buff man with a gorgeous eyes and smile (dimples is a yes!!). Personality wise, I just want a person who could make me happy and support everything that I do.

Eye candy! Steven R. McQueen

ENVY
What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

Something I can't afford or isn't available in my country. I really really want the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation :( I've seen people wear it and they look absolutely flawless.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation

And that's it! I am tagging all of you to do this, leave me your blog address so I can check it out!

How To: Brighten your underarms using lemons.

Dark underarm is a major problem to some girls or women. In other words, it's a no no. Most of us women have it, I have it, my mom have it, my friends have it, we all have it. We all can say that it's normal and it happens, so we don't have to freak out. Because, there are remedies to make this disappear. But today, I'm going to focus on brightening your underarms using lemons because in my opinion, lemons work the best.

Lemons contain alpha-hydroxy acid which is a bleaching agent. Most commercial face or skin lightener have this acid in the formula. Lemons also have an exfoliating effect that can safely peel our skin, hence removing the dead skins (dead cells). Most commercial lightening products are very expensive and very hard to get, so lemons are here to save the day!

Let's get to it!

These are the simple steps you need to follow:
  1. Soak a small towel in warm water and clean your underarms thoroughly
  2. Take 2 slices (or more) of lemon and rub the slices against each of your underarms. Make sure to make full use of the juice.
  3. Once you run out of the juice, just put the lemon slices under your underarms and hold it there for at least 5 minutes
  4. After that, take the towel again and clean your underarms (or take a shower!)
  5. And that's it!
Tips:
  • Do this regularly at least once a week
  • NEVER do this after you shave because it will STING
This method will not make the darkness disappear completely. Have some patience and do this regularly. Do you know that you can apply this method to your face and body too? Let me know if you try this method. Goodluck!

Happy Saturday,

Izzie's Lookbook: First Date

Date night <3

Now I know when you look at my set above, it might not be what you think when you look at the title. Well, this date night set I made is inspired by elegance and sophistication. I really love it when women make an effort to look classy on a date night because you just need to show a really, really good impression on the opposite sex. I am not so sure if this whole outfit is suitable for teenagers type of first date but the dress can be switched to a nice floral dress and the red lipsticks can be switched to a swipe of lip gloss.

I hope you get some ideas on how you can dress up on a first date night! Tell me if you try out something like this.

Cheers, Izzie.

Izzie's Recommendation: Eversoft Deep Action Scrub.

Hello everyone! I hope ya'll are having a great Friday. So today, I will be starting the Izzie's Recommendation Series. I think this is very much self-explanatory. Basically, in this series, what I will do is recommend a bunch of stuff that worked great on ME. So, if you are going to try out some of the products that I will be mentioning in this series, TRY ON YOUR OWN RISK! Just to let everybody know, I have combination skin, but more to the oily side, and my skin is very sensitive. So if you have the same type of skin as mine, you may find this series very useful.

Today, my first recommendation product is the Eversoft Deep Action Scrub. This is how it looks like.

I have been using this scrub for almost 5 months now and I am deeply grateful that I tried it. I will be most probably loyal to this product until I die. I bought it out of randomness (it was stacked on the sale shelf)  because I was running out of face scrub.

The consistency of this scrub is very creamy and the size of the beads are quite small but they are numerous! I love the fact that the size is small but they are in numerous amount because this totally prevents my skin from having tiny scratches or even minor cuts. The smell of the product is a satisfactory, I don't know how to describe it but it is probably the smell of apricots (I never smelt apricots before). The major win factor of this product is the fact that it is organic. I surely know that organic stuff is probably the best thing to put on your face without having to worry about the damages.

I scrub my face once a week with it and it leaves my face so so smooth like a baby's butt and it doesn't have the dehydrating effect on your skin. After I scrub, I usually apply my Simple Oil-Balancing Moisturizer to bring back the moisture to my face.

I'd rate this product 9/10 and I would totally recommend this to everyone. Unlike St Ives face scrub (not hating, just saying!), Eversoft's is just a way better choice for my type of skin because it doesn't leave scratches on my face and no dehydrating effect.

Have you tried this product? If yes, tell me what you think! If no, would you buy it?

Happy Friday, Izzie.

Review: Catrice Defining Blush in 030 Love & Peach

Okay, I don't have the most ridiculous blush collection in the world, in fact, blushes are the fewest collection I have. Believe it or not, I only have 3 blushes right now. Hence why I am raving about this Catrice's Defining Blush that I recently bought.

Most of my blushes have orange and peach tones, so when I saw this riveting coral color on the Catrice counter, I basically just explode out my lung. It is such a gorgeous color. I immediately took a tester sample on the counter and had a swatch on the back of my hand. It is even more gorgeous lying on the skin. Without hesitation, I bought this right away and has been using this everytime I go out.

The other thing that really caught my attention is the packaging of the blush. The packaging is very sleek and clean, the powder do not comes off everywhere which is a winning factor. The durability of the blush on the skin, I think, depends on the foundation that you are wearing or whether or not you are wearing primer underneath. Obviously, it will last longer if you do. The only con of this blush is that it's not that pigmented but nevertheless, I wouldn't mind sweeping my brush on this blush harshly because it's worth it

The price is very very reasonable the fact the it's a drugstore product but we have an exception here. This blush works like magic on the skin, it could be mistaken for a high end product. I would definitely recommend buying their Defining Blush collection.

Do you have the same product? If you do, let me know what you think of it!

Cheers, Izzie.

My top 7 YouTube beauty gurus.

I think it's normal for a girl like me to look up to other girls or women to find inspirations and ideas. For makeup and fashion wise, YouTube has been my best friend. YouTube has granted me a LOT of beautiful, gorgeous and aspiring ladies for me to look up to. And today, I will be jotting down my top 7 beauty gurus that I will never ever stop watching their amazing videos. Note that the list are not in order of preference.

  1. Tanya Burr

I am not lying when I say, I literally watched EVERY single videos of Tanya. Tanya is just a very, very talented beauty guru that I learned so much from. Out of all the gurus I listed here, Tanya taught me the most of my makeup skills and knowledge. Apart from that, she is just a very humble person and she always makes me so happy when she uploads new video.

If you don't already know, the Pixiwoo sisters are the sisters-in-law of Tanya Burr (so much for a coincidence, eh?). They are the most professional makeup artist I know there is on YouTube and they also taught me a lot of things about makeup. My favorites have always been their 60's makeup and Bond Girl series videos. You should definitely check them out.

   3. Michelle Phan

Who doesn't know Michelle Phan? Seriously. If you don't know who she is, you're missing something BIG in your life. Michelle Phan is probably the first successful beauty guru on YouTube, her skincare tips, makeup tricks and makeup tutorials have helped a lot of women to do makeup. Michelle is yet another guru that has an AMAZING personality, her story of becoming successful on YouTube definitely driven me to reach my own dream and to never stop no matter where you start.

  4. Wayne Goss

Goss is very honest, which I love the most about him. When giving opinions, he is very genuine and very thorough, I always believed what he said especially when he reviews some beauty products (I almost wanted to buy the Maybelline's Fit Me foundation but when he said it's not good for oily skin, I changed my mind right away.) He is also a professional makeup artist (talking about models here) and yet again, one of the most amazing guru there is.

I want to be Ingrid's best friend, like for reals. She seems like the nicest person ever and I can never say any negative thing about her. Apart from that, her videos are always entertaining and fun. Ingrid, in my opinion, focuses more on fashion and skincare in her channel and they always inspired me to dress for the day and how to take good care of my skin.

I said I want to be Ingrid's best friend, but with Bethany, I just want to be her sister. Bethany is also one of the gurus that taught me a lot about fashion but she is currently 17 (if I'm not mistaken), so her outfits are sometimes too youthful for me, but her DIYs videos are so useful. I admit that I admire Bethany because of how happy her life is and her cheerful personality always makes me happy. Aside from fashion, she also taught me how important family is and also to have fun. Bethany is just incredible, and I love her.

  7. Zoe

Zoe never uploaded tutorials in her channel but she always does haul videos which I love. But personally, I love her personality so much that I want to be her sometimes. She occasionally does motivational videos which I am grateful for because she reminds me that she is not perfect, which I love her even more for saying that.

That's it for my top 7 YouTube beauty gurus! Let me know if these people are your favorites too and if you haven't check them out, please do and subscribe to them, I promise they won't let you down. Let me know if there are broken links.

Cheers, Izzie.

Introducing, Izzie J. Collins.

Hello everybody! My name is Izzie J. Collins and everybody calls me Izzie.

I created a blog for only one reason: to share. My fields of interest are in a wide variety so I can promise you that my blog will be very versatile -- Well, mostly for girls and women. But no worries, I will also be posting about men fashion as well as other men related topics, like football (maybe).

I, however, have to inform everyone that Izzie J. Collins is not my real name and it's a name I came up just 10 minutes ago as my pen name. Hence, I am writing, technically, as anonymous and I will never ever show my true face here. I will make sure that my blog will not lack of substance due to my anonymity.

Here is the list that I will talk mostly here, just to give you guys a heads up about my blog :

  • Fashion
  • Makeup
  • Love, relationships, personality, etc.
  • Reviews about anything
  • Movies
  • Music
  • Celebrities
  • Food
  • Health
  • Books
  • And possibly many more.
Hope that will put at least an interest in your heart. If it did, please follow me here or on Google+ if you like. That will make me very very happy.

See you guys, soon!

Cheers, Izzie.
